These extensive gardens on the north of Dublin city contain an important plant collection which includes approximately 20,000 species and cultivars. Features worth travelling for include include some stunning herbaceous displays, rose garden, rockery, vegetable garden, arboretum, extensive shrub borders and wall plants.
The four ranges of glasshouses include the recently restored Victorian Curvilinear Range.
There is a restaurant but it does not always match the standard of the gardens; the lovely Andersons Food Hall & Café nearby at The Rise, Glasnevin (Tel: 01 837 8394) offers wholesome food.
